This policy discloses the privacy practices of VPP Pty Ltd (ACN 662 490 011). WHAT WE COLLECT

To enable you to enjoy certain features of our optimisation and monitoring services related to your solar system and battery storage (Services), we collect certain types of information.

Personal information we collect may include: your full name, email address, mobile phone number, residential address (including city, state, postcode and country).

Non-personally identifiable information we collect may include: information relating to your solar/battery product/service such as installation type, national meter identifier, distribution network, hardware serial number, battery model, battery capacity (kWh), inverter manufacturer, inverter capacity, photovoltaic (PV) capacity, export limit and installation date.

HOW WE COLLECT IT

The information we collect is generally supplied directly by you when you register for an account with us, subscribe to our emails, join a mailing list, submit an enquiry or provide feedback to us.

There are also certain situations in which we may collect information from someone else. For example, we may collect information from third parties (including public sources), our related entities, your organisation, your representatives, the installers of your solar/battery products and/or information service providers.

We may also receive and store certain types of information through the use of cookies, pixel trackers, server logs and other internet technology when you interact with our mobile application via the internet.

WHY WE COLLECT IT

We collect personal information (including non-personally identifiable information) for a number of reasons, including (without limitation) to:

(a) deliver, administer and improve the Services you request;
(b) obtain information and reports about your energy usage;
(c) analyse your use of the Services so that we can improve them;
(d) send marketing communications;
(e) marketing our system and ongoing services;
(f) protect against fraud or theft;
(g) provide offers and promotions that we consider may be of interest or benefit to you;
(h) conduct research, development and related activities in the field of solar/battery energy and services in respect to same;
(i) work with our related entities and service providers;
(j) maintain and update our records;
(k) protect and uphold the rights, property and safety of us and our customers; and
(l) to provide you with a premium customer experience.

We will only use your email address for the purpose for which you have provided it and it will not be added to a mailing list or used for any other purpose without your consent.

WHO WE SHARE IT WITH

We may exchange your personal information (including non-personally identifiable information) with:

(a) manufacturers of the solar/battery hardware and other equipment you use;
(b) entities which we partner with as part of the Services that we provide to you;
(c) entities which provide services to us, including installers, technical or customer support, organisations that assist us with postal, data processing and analysis, research, mail, promotional, customer contact, technology and maintenance services.

We may otherwise use or disclose your personal information (including non-personally identifiable information) with:

 your consent (or if we have given you notification of the intended use or disclosure and you have not objected to that use or disclosure); and/or
 where required or authorised by law, which may include emergency situations and assisting law enforcement agencies;
 to protect and defend our rights, services or property;
 to protect the safety or property of our users or any member of the public.

Third parties to whom we disclose personal information may be located in Australia or other countries.

USE OUTSIDE AUSTRALIA

If you are using the Services from outside of Australia, your data will be transferred and stored in our services in Australia. By using our Services, you consent to our collection and use of your information as described in this privacy policy. You also acknowledge that data protection laws in Australia may be different than in other countries.

Adento will retain your information for a reasonable period or as long as the law requires.

As permitted by applicable law, you may have a right of access, rectification and delegation of information collected by us, and the right to oppose, for legitimate reasons, the processing of this information. To exercise these rights, please contact us using the contact details below. We request that you provide us with as much detail as you can about the particular information you seek, in order to help us retrieve it. An access fee may be charged to cover our costs of providing that information to you. In certain circumstances, we may not be required by law to provide you with access or to correct your personal information. If that is the case, we will give you our reasons for that decision. Where we decide not to update your personal information, you can request us to attach to the personal information a statement of the update sought.

We take reasonable steps to make sure that the information we collect, use and disclose is accurate, complete and up-to-date and agree to comply with all relevant privacy legislation in relation to your personal information.
